FISHING NEWS
Pleasure fishing has recently been picking up as water temperature slowly rises particularly on the Trees and Wires Ponds where the Roach fishing has been particularly good with reports of double figure catches and Roach to over a pound commonplace. Fishing 2-3ft deep with single maggot or Caster being the most effective. The occasional Carp is making an appearance and Skimmer Bream in the 1.5lb to 2lb are frequently caught. A few Tench, Ide and Crucians have also been caught on the Wires Pond. Most of the pegs have now been tidied up with new hardwood chips in place for the Anglers convenience and comfort. Dafodills and Primroses are out and the birds are busy nest building and it is altogether a lovely time of year so please find time to come and appreciate it.
